Stores prepare for Christmas sales

For many people Christmas is a time of the year which always comes round extremely quickly. Selfridge’s, a large department store based in London’s Oxford Street, certainly agrees with this as they have opened their Christmas shop six days earlier than last year due to increasing demand from tourists wanting festive souvenirs.

When visiting the store you are likely to see a seasonal display of products including baubles, ornaments, trees and tinsel. Naturally, this leaves some shoppers bemused however it is all done for the convenience of customers. Sales figures have not been released, however it is likely to be a positive move for the store which stocks 25,000 different lines of Christmas products.

Selfridge’s is not the only store getting ready for sales. The Christmas shop for Harrod’s also opens in August and Hamley’s toy store has already released the list of items expected to be in demand this year. One of the main reasons these large stores promote Christmas products from August is due to the large amount of overseas visitors coming to visit within the summer months.
