Exclusive fashion design deal to end
Later this year Kate Moss and Topshop will end their three year fashion design partnership. The autumn and winter clothing range expected to launch in October will be the model’s 14th and final design collection which has been created for the online and high street retailer.
Many items designed by Ms Moss proved popular with Topshop customers, and it is thought that she has made at least £3m in total from the ranges. Sir Philip Green quoted that the model has “other commitments”, so it is likely that there is simply not the time for her to continue designing alongside other projects.
At the unveiling of her first ever designs, thousands of people queued outside Topshop’s flagship store on Oxford Street ready to make purchases – the event was even dubbed by newspapers as “Moss mania”. Topshop was quick in starting a trend of celebrity deals, with high street chain H&M following suit by hiring people such as Stella McCartney and Madonna to design ranges for them.
